While we area happy to arrange tours for you to any of them, the area around Uvita offers many attractions that you can explore on your own. We highlight a few of them below the map.

Rancho La Merced National Wildlife Refuge

Founded since 1971 to preserve diverse natural habitats with 1250 acres , gives you a great opportunity for wildlife observation by taking a hiking and/or birding tour through the rainforest, wetlands and mangroves.

Oro Verde Biological Reserve

Located in the mountains of Uvita, on the Duarte family farm, the reserve has 150ha/370.5ac of land that is mostly rainforest. Tours are available to visit waterfalls, see the rainforest and observe wildlife.

Hacienda Barú National Wildlife Refuge

Hacienda Barú´s 330 hectares (815 acres) have a fantastic variety of habitats, from wetland and secondary forest in the lowlands to primary forest on the highland coastal ridge. 19 years of experience in ecotourism.
