Description

Nauyaca Waterfalls: A Pristine Treasure

Nauyaca Waterfalls is a breathtaking natural sanctuary situated merely 35 minutes from Marino Ballena National Park and an hour from Manuel Antonio National Park.

Envision water cascading down 80 meters into a dual-level canyon. The upper tier drops 45 meters, and the lower tier follows with a gentle 20-meter fall. A spacious, welcoming pool greets you at the bottom, with smaller pools ideal for family enjoyment.

Your journey starts with an 8-kilometer horseback trek along picturesque paths, where you may spot white-faced monkeys, peacocks, agoutis, and other wildlife. A 20-minute ride brings you to Nauyaca Waterfalls, where you can swim and savor the stunning scenery for approximately two hours.

Key Points:

Horseback riding expertise is not required.
A brief, 100-meter trail takes you to the waterfalls.
Weight limits are in place: 220 pounds for novices and 240 pounds for seasoned riders.
Relish a traditional Costa Rican dish and coffee from Pérez Zeledón before returning to the parking lot.

Highlights

Two gorgeous waterfalls: One is a free-fall, 147ft waterfall, and the other is a tiered, 65ft waterfall with a 20ft deep swimming hole at the bottom.
