Cano Island Snorkeling from Sierpe Full Day from $116

Discover the finest snorkeling in the southern Pacific zone, where turquoise waters, unspoiled corals, and rocky reefs host diverse marine life. 

You may encounter turtles, dolphins, humpback whales (which are seasonal from July to October), parrotfish, king angelfish, barracudas, eels, reef sharks, and stingrays.

Your journey includes a scenic boat ride through the Terraba mangrove channels, a haven for wildlife.

Departure is at 8:00 a.m., and the trip is estimated to last 8 hours (from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

The meeting point is in Sierpe, a 1-hour drive south of Uvita. Participants must be able to swim. The package includes a bilingual guide, boat transport, park entry, snorkeling gear, bottled water, and lunch.

Optionally, round-trip ground transportation is available for an additional US$25 from Dominical, Uvita, or Ojochal, with pick-up times between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., varying by location. Transportation from Manuel Antonio is also offered.

Description

The Cano Island Biological Reserve is a premier destination for scuba diving and snorkeling on Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast. It features five dive sites, some adorned with rock pinnacles and arches.

Departing from Sierpe at 8:00 a.m., the boat navigates through mangrove channels before reaching the open sea and the island, a journey of roughly 60 minutes. During the ocean passage, passengers can observe various marine life, including dolphins, turtles, and humpback whales, particularly during their migration season from July to October.

The guide selects two snorkeling spots; weather permitting, guests will snorkel for approximately 45 minutes at each site.

Visitors can also make a brief stop on the island to relax on the beach and explore the lookout.

Following the snorkeling adventure, the boat anchors at a nearby beach where a picnic lunch is served. The return trip to Sierpe is scheduled to arrive around 4:00 p.m.

Children from 4 to 9 years old pay the half price, Children under 4 years are not recommended, in both cases the parents take all the responsibility for the kids.

Weather conditions: Any tour will be canceled for the weather conditions if those putat risk the health and safety of the customers, in this case, the payment will be fully refunded, or the tour will be rescheduled.

Clients must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The customer takes all responsibility for personal injury.
