Depending on the lengh of your stay there are a couple of ways for transportation around Uvita. If you decided to move to Uvita for good it obviously makes sense to invest in your own car in order to get around. People who are staying here only for a couple of days might consider renting a car.
Litte tip: Since some roads suddenly change into offroad tracks and the tropical climate makes dry environment turn into a muddy adventure within seconds, I can only recommend to get a 4X4 vehicle in order to master every challenge to your destination.
To the bigger cities near Uvita you can always take one of the busses. The online schedules are often not the most up-to-date. To get the right time give us a call or ask us directly at the office. We are happy to help you. It is also a very good idea to save a couple numbers from local Taxi drivers in your phone. It saved me more than once from walking home from a restaurant through the rain.
For my main transportation I chose the most ecologic solution and got myself a bicycle. If you would also like to buy one, but don’t want to spend to much money on a new bike you should visit the bike repair shop in Bahia called “La casa de la ciclista”. Sometimes they have bikes for sale.
